1. The defense will be held in room 222 . Students must be present in the examination room 15 minutes prior to the announced hour of diploma project defense commencement. Students are also required to upload their presentations to the personal computer in the assigned room. The organization of presentations order will be listed on the defence day.

2. Each student is required their registry book to be granted access to the room.

3. The defense is arranged in the following sequence of actions:

- Students verbally present a 7-minute summary of their diploma projects. No compromise will be made as to the timing of presentations. 

- Reviewer comments are delivered.

- Further questions by the members of the State Examination Commission (SEC) are addressed.

- Students provide answers to the comments / questions of the reviewers / SEC. Answers should be clear, concise and on topic.

4. The formation of the final mark is calculated as the average points of all individual scores of the members of SEC. Subsequently the average points are transformed into a final grade according to the following scale[1] adopted in UE-Varna:

1. From 45 to 51 points – Fair 3, 00;

2. From 52 to 58 points – Fair 3, 25;

3. From 59 to 61 points – Good 3, 50;

4. From 62 to 64 points – Good 3, 75;

5.  From 65 to 68 points – Good 4, 00;

6. From 69 to 72 points – Good 4, 25;

7. From 73 to 75 points – Very good 4, 50;

8. From 76 to 78 points – Very good – 4, 75;

9. From 79 to 82 points – Very good – 5, 00;

10. From 83 to 86 points – Very good 5, 25;

11. From 87 to 89 points – Excellent 5, 50;

12. From 90 to 92 points – Excellent 5, 75;

13. From 93 to 100 points – Excellent 6, 00.

Instructions for conducting State Exam

1. The exam will be held in the Centre for Electronic Studies (room 56) at the premises of UE-Varna within a previously announced time schedule on the university website. Students must be present in the examination room 15 minutes prior to the announced hour.

2. Each student is required their registry book to be granted access to the room.

3. The exam is structured into three parts (detailed description of the configuration of questions has been delivered during the Graduation Seminar subject):

- Part 1 – 50 multiple-choice questions (1 point is given for each correct answer and no extra points will be deducted for each wrong answer).

- Part 2 – divided into two parts: (1) 3 compulsory open-ended questions (7 points maximum is given for each complete answer; (2) 3 elective open-ended questions must be chosen from a range of other available questions covering the different subjects studied during academic year 3 and year 4 (3 points maximum is given for each complete answer).

- Part 3 – comprises of 4 problem-solving questions related to the specializing marketing subjects studied in academic year 3 and year 4 (5 points maximum are given for each correctly solved / completely answered problem.

The distribution of scores for the different parts is as follows: Part 1 (50 points maximum), Part 2 (30 points maximum), Part 3 (20 points maximum).  The sum of all scores equals 100.

4. For some problem-solving questions students might be required to use calculators. Students must secure a calculator on their own. The use of mobile phones and / or other electronic devices is strictly forbidden and will be penalized.

5. The formation of the final mark is calculated through transforming the total number of accrued points according to the following scale[2] adopted in UE-Varna:

1. From 45 to 51 points – Fair 3, 00;

2. From 52 to 58 points – Fair 3, 25;

3. From 59 to 61 points – Good 3, 50;

4. From 62 to 64 points – Good 3, 75;

5.  From 65 to 68 points – Good 4, 00;

6. From 69 to 72 points – Good 4, 25;

7. From 73 to 75 points – Very good 4, 50;

8. From 76 to 78 points – Very good – 4, 75;

9. From 79 to 82 points – Very good – 5, 00;

10. From 83 to 86 points – Very good 5, 25;

11. From 87 to 89 points – Excellent 5, 50;

12. From 90 to 92 points – Excellent 5, 75;

13. From 93 to 100 points – Excellent 6, 00.
