SILC project "SILC Road Local Culture" will be presented on Sept. 27th, 2019 within the Tenth Scientific Conference "The Cultural Heritage of Varna and the Black Sea Region"
On September 27, 2019 University of Economics will participate at the Tenth Conference "Cultural Heritage of Varna and the Black Sea Region 2019", organized by the Municipality of Varna and the Union of Scientists-Varna, with a report on the topic:
The SILC Road local culture project: opportunities for Varna in the Black Sea region.
"SILC Road local culture" SILC is an international project that started at the University of Economics - Varna from the beginning of 2019 under the Black Sea 2014 - 2020 program.
The leading organization is Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, and the other partners are from Armenia, Romania and Georgia. The project duration is 30 months and the implementation period is from 2018. to 2021
The SILC project aims to identify, document and map the cultural footprint of the Silk Road, as well as to evaluate and reveal the potential for tourism development of the areas that fall into the ancient trade route.
The tasks of the project implementation team are to analyse the unused cultural tourism opportunities that exist along the Silk Road and to identify the prospects for creating new tourism products..
The project also envisages the creation of an entrepreneurial SILCNET tourism network, in which uniform standards of tourist service and products will be applied and its members will exchange and share their knowledge and experience.
